Does anyone know exactly what type of plastic can be used on BBQ Hot Plates? Very handy thing to use especially on some public BBQ's and it can be used over and over again.

Dunno about all of them but the one I have used was a Mylar sheet coated with Teflon (PTFE).
Cheers

Thanks every one for your replies. Yes I do remember now that it is actually silicone. Pity, as I have access to large quantities of heavy plastic that I had thoughts of using.

Ordinary Baking Paper is just as good at a fraction of the price but not re-usable.

Another thumbs up for the baking paper - use it all the time on public/communal BBQ's, with the added bonus that you don't have anything to clean up, just chuck the paper out after use.
