Hi all,

After doing a service on the wife's Landcruiser the other day, the central locking decided not to work, had a quick look & found no obvious problems.

Went down to Alice & back yesterday & the central locking started to work, but it will only unlock the doors, it will not lock them?

Crawled all over it today, checked fuses, relays etc. still can't find anything obviously wrong, decided that it must be the remote central locking module & removed it, NOPE when unlocking the drivers or passengers doors with the key, they ALL unlock, but wont lock, same with the button on the arm rest.

What am I missing? what else should I be looking at?

Try the two most obvious things, redo your service and see if you disturbed anything.

Try another remote.

Could try the usual fallback, disconnect the battery for a while.

If that doesn't work control is often fairly simple, the lock/unlock button sends a earth to the body ECU, the body ECU locks/unlocks the door. The wireless receiver is also connected to the body ECU.

Have you done any work near the body ECU?

Thanks for that.

No, it's still got the original head unit in it.

Already checked every thing that I could have touched, leant on etc...

Looks like the body ECU is the next place to look, nice, more crawling around in a hot car in the sun... ;)

Most common cause of will unlock but not lock is the drivers door motor or vice versa, the drivers door motor is a primary drive motor that send the signals to the other door locks motors.

I am sure there are many on here who will tell you the same thing.....LOL

Sounds like a door not shut properly.
