Just got this month's issue - it is full of the rubbish - I wonder which left wing greenie got into their pockets or threatened to make life difficult for someone on their Board. lets face it, they are the only anti motorist pro lining my pocket motrorist organisation full of crazy pollies in the world.
Has anyone looked seriously at their magazine - cheapest papaer, full of adds, speaks for the state government, has little of value for the motorist, reviews of new cars are so basic my five year old could do tehm and they have the chhek to waste millions on countless Board fights and then raise their annual rates for this rubbish.
They are even fighting with their own patrolment lately who have been ons trike - Some people forget why they are employed in a certain role very easily.
Need I say I am $#$%^^@ off.

Interesting that NRMA are bashing 4WDs ... seeing that Bill McKinnon, they're main writer, (I think that's his name) is a fourby owner and enthusiast.

I think you're right WDR, there's some outside pressure on them.

Does the advertising in the mag have much 4WD content or is it all car and namby pamby stuff
The advertisers will dictate the content now
NRMA now has no credibility as everything now is about money and profit for shareholders
I left the NRMA last year and joined one of the other state motoring organisations

Same as bull bars, and other such topics. But we cant be laid back and not argue our rights. If we remain quiet we will get rolled!

I'm not getting very good vibes about the national railway modellers association (NRMA)... Im annoyed that though I'v been a member for 30 years that their gold card now is next to useless, they are going to start charging for maps and other road user services, insurance quotes (in my case at least) are not competitive. They no longer really support the motorist but rather want you to fly overseas or let them handle your financial dealings/ advice. Carravanners / campers seem scorned but those of us who want to spend our life's savings on 5 star accomodation are welcomed with open arms... frankly I dont know why I bother with membership. I shall do the maths & calculate the real benifits of NRMA membership...It gives someone with some enterprenaurial skill an opening to open another breakdown/recovery service financed by members for the benifit of members... in fact it could be called a club.. a radical departure from the current NRMA.

I heard a news article the other night that the Motor Traders Association in NSW is going to set up a roadside assistance service in competition to NRMA. About the same cost apparently.
NRMA will lose a lot of Members to the new MTS service if that is all the member uses - As I said at the beginning the Mag is useless and that and the ex free maps were the main attraction.

This is it but don't compare - I have lived in SA and Vic and this mob haven't any resemblance to RAA or RACV - I assume RACQ are also O'K.

I only got mine today and I didn't think the article was that bad. In fact, it was probably doing us a service with the message being - they're not a car so don't drive it like one, and if you're not going to use it for what its meant for then why bother.
