While travelling from Sydney to Toowoomba in June this year the catch on the slide out cooker let go causing damage to the cooker and sliders
I notice MDC have changed their design and have a better locking system I wondered if anyone else has had similar problems the camper was only on bitumen when it happened.

Our MDC Voyager has a lock on the slide for the kitchen, a spring loaded locking bolt and the door also locks so there is 3 things to fail before it will slide out Always make sure all your doors are locked.

just hoping to make anyone aware if they have the old type with the two twist locks that they could be in strife

Hi Mark I have a Voyager as well but mine is the 2014 model with the side doors recessed into the body, and mine has a safety blue catch on the runners as well as pad bolt type pin which pushes down into a hole and as you have to turn it to pass down it has a pin that once turned it cannot come out, much like a double front gate where the pins go into the ground and when yo lift them up you turn the pin to stop it dropping down .I guess there may have been problems so a modification was made .
Cheers.

They obviously vibrated loose poor design ! I stopped at a windscreen repair place and had to cut the bent runners and push it back in and hold it with a tie strap
Whole new assembly needed as the slide out hit a post whilst turning a corner luckily it was insured but the repairer said MDC were totally useless as far as help went his words not mine they have extended the tongues on the locks but I will still put a extra lock on it.
Once again MDC after sales service was left wanting !!

Hi Mark, we feel your pain. MCD after sales service is worse than non-existant... They are rude and evasive. I think that you may be able to get the runners from Hettich?

We have had the fridge slide break and jam itself onto the door which stopped the door opening. Luckily the vent from the fridge was able to be removed and we could open it from the inside. We have had to place a secondary lock on the slide to stop it moving in transit.

I think that we have the same model, so I'd be interested in hearing how you would put the extra lock on the kitchen slide.

Hi Kor

Mine let go whilst turning right at traffic lights clipped a no standing sign an wrecked the sliders and the whole assembley that the sink and stove sits in .
Trail a van repaired it and had to get a new unit fabbed up locally MDC told them they couldn't supply one or the runners as their design had changed ( so much for aussie made eh?) it has taken 5 months they finally got the runners but MDC cant even give them the little locks for the drawers when it happened I had to cut the bent tracks and force it back in to limp home.
I am still looking at a good way to fix extra lock I will post when I do it Rod at trail a van when asked what I could put on it to fix it he quipped "a for sale sign"

Hi KOR
I bought a standard fitting but extended the bottom clasp so it wouldn't pull out I have tried it and seems to hold even if the two locks are open .
Went camping this weekend and didn't have to spend all the time looking in the wing mirrors !!

Cant post photos send me your email and I will send you them mine is marksingleton688@gmail.com

Lucky it didn't clip a pedestrian! How awful it must have been for you, and it really isn't acceptable that this happened. We have taken our trailer to some pretty remote places and ours hasn't done it ... yet, however I look forward to seeing your engineering fix so that we can prevent this happening before there is an awful accident.

Big,

Use my iPad regularly to upload photos, and it's not too different to using a PC.

Click on blue tab below "Insert images & files", and another box will open with a blue tab "add photos & files" Click on this and it should open with your Moments Folder (plus any other folders you may have, Favourites etc)

Tap on Moments, select the photo you want, and when you tap on it, a blue tick will open on the photo. Then tap Done.

Photo will load, a naming box opens, add title and hit save.

I find the "add photos & files" tab is not very sensitive, and needs either multiple taps, or hold your finger on it till it has a blue thingy on it, then tap again and it will take you to Moments.

Neglected to mention that when you save the desired image, it will not show in your follow-up as a photo, but as a code like this:

When you hit the Preview or Submit button, the above code will change into your photo.

It is wise to do a preview first, before you hit Submit, just to check that you have the correct photo, and the reply/follow up looks as you'd like it on forum.
