1- Turn off computer, disconnect the power cord, remove the battery.
2- Press the Power On button for 10 seconds
3- Replace battery and/or connect power cord.
4- Turn On computer + immediately press F2 key repeatedly
5- Press F9 then press Enter
6- Press F10 then press Enter

Good Luck

FatGaz
Does that work for any laptop or is that fix peculiar to Toshiba's?

Thanks

Removing the power and the battery and holding the power button in for 10 seconds fixes quite a number of laptop problems for most brands. It's a handy trick that clears the charge held on certain motherboard components that may be halting the boot process. All the F keys are brand specific.

you may have turn off the pad. The switch is below the space bar and hard to see push that and it should work. If not my last Toshiba I had to replace the key board, but that gave me warning.
