Hi Greendog,
Lorella Springs has the only safe swimming in that area. Borroloola has a swimming pool, but not sure if it is open to the public as it is in the school grounds. As for camp spots, Seven emu's has good camp grounds.

You can drive from Lorella Springs to King Fisher Camp in a (long) day.

Cheers Andy

Seven Emus camp ground has only been their for a couple of years. You turn left off the Woologarang Rd just after the Foelsche river and past Snake Lagoon.
From what I hear it is well run, have not camped at Snake Lagoon so can't comment.

Hey mate,

The road going into Lorella is pretty rough. We took almost a couple of hours to get in the and the same to get out. The Savannah Way is mostly rough (corrugated etc) so don't plan stops, just drive until its beer o'clock. We travelled it this year just like that (in no rush) and found some awesome camp spots along the way. Relax, slow down, see the sights.Towns River, wow, what a fantastic spot for crocs and fishing.Check it out big trucker and smell the coffee.....
