Inspire Technology is issuing a recall on a key ring style Powerbank. The units were available in 4 colours green, blue, purple and pink.

What are the defects?
There is a risk of back casing falling off after being dropped and then exposing the internal wires and battery. Inconsistent, uncertified batteries have been found in the affected batches.
What are the hazards?
The batteries may overheat and, in the worst case scenario, could pose a fire hazard.

Thanks for that. Seems to be a regular occurrence!

I can't for the life of me understand how this imported rubbish that "is supposed" to conform to standards ends up on sale here.

It must be very frustrating for Aussie manufacturing (the likes of Schneider electric Clipsal) that have to confirm to strict laws when importers clearly import this rubbish & have no regard for standards.
