Gday Legends,

looking at buying a instant tent from bcf using up some gift cards.
Thinking of the Coleman 6 man tent. Only camp every now and then but will be doing some trips up north in the future. Any suggestions on wether the coleman is the best one for the job or wether there is better?

Not sure if this fits with your definition of "instant tents", but I have one of these from the Oztent people, and it is terrific.

Malamoo Instant Tent

I don't know if they are available through BCF.

James,
if your talking about the Coleman Instant Up 6, my girl who managers a well known camping store chain says they are a very good tent, she even says that if we ever had to replace the tourer +9, that is what we would get. Heavier weight fabric than the competition, hope that helps in your decision making.

maybe a bit late now but,
i've had a black stump instant tent for years.
used it on a trip where we were moving every day for 2 months.

uses an 'umbrella' type mechanism and really goes up in a few seconds.
a very good tent to have in the arsenal.
also use a oztrail tourer plus centre pole tent (must have rear extension) which is pretty quick but heavy and big when packed.

if you look at a blackstump, make sure the shop knows how to erect it, i nearly didn't bother after a bumbling shop assistant had a go.
