Hi we are heading to the Kimberley in 2015. Can anyone tell me if you can still go to Mt. Hart or is it part of APT tours. Is it worthwhile going into? Thanks all. Greg & Di

I was there in 2010 before the 'government takeover'. I do not know what the current arrangements are, but back then the camp ground was pretty good, and the gorges and 4wdriving well worth the drive in.

Hi there,

I believe APT may be pulling out for this season as they were managing it and it's now being managed by a local. You could have always visited even with APT operating it....ie you didnt have to be on their tour.

If you plan to visit early this season there's a couple of great swimming spots located on the Barker River. It's also got a fantastic sunset spot and its a good place to stop and relax. 50kms off the Gibb but the scenery in is amazing as you cris cross the King Leopold Ranges but I'm biased. I love it all up there. You might like to see my Classified link below if you would like more info.

Hi, we were there in July last year and loved it. The camping ground is excellent and had very friendly and helpful campground hosts. It's a bit of a drive off the main road but well worth the effort. We stayed about 4 or 5 days and visited all the sights. The APT managers were very friendly and we had dinner at the restaurant one night. There's a happy hour at the bar each evening and is a great place to meet other campers and APT guests as well.
