Hi all, I'm looking for a reliable mechanic in Adelaide to look at my 2003 Navara STR 3L diesel - had the head gasket replaced up in Roxby Downs a few months ago and when I got the car back it had an issue with what in assuming is a fuel pressure problem - the car starts but then cuts out a few seconds later. If I pump the fuel pump with the hand primer and rev the car when I restart it then it generally starts ok again. But now it's starting having issues while getting up to speed - particularly at high speeds - it loses power and stutters and jerks when accelerating. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Should also add - I took the car back to the Roxby mechanic a few times to get them to sort out the issue but had no luck. They replaced the fuel pump but that didn't fix the problem and they basically washed their hands of the issue.

I have used Saint Marys Auto Repairs for 15 years.
It is a family business south of the city.

I suggest you talk to the guys at Cross Country 4x4 on South Road at Edwardstown 83575993. They know Nissans.

Hi Cat,
I'd recommend Detract Diesel, at 8 Quinlan Ave, St Mary's...Jeff and Chris are good blokes, and have solved a few tricky issues for me over the years. Excellent service and communication during each job, and I have always felt that their prices are fair.

I would second that recommendation.
Brad and Mark run a good business and back their work.
If they make a mistake (rare), they fix it at their cost with no argument

Hi Cat L,

I realise this post is now quite a few days old, so you may have already made a decision but, just in case you haven't, you might like to try All Wheel Drive Repair Services (Howard 0418 844 795). Howard has been doing all my maintenance and repair work since 1989.

Sure, I've got a 'Cruiser but he does quite a bit of work on Nissans.

Your call !

Charlie
