Thanks for the feed back late last year on the Aussie Swag camper. After receiving good feed back from this forum and others, we spoke to a few owners, had at look at a local unit and then we inspected the camper in Brisbane at Xmas show and have now ordered an Ultra D expected some time in February.

Have gone for the second water tank, done away with spare tyre under camper as we have two spares on rear carriers on 200 LC. Able to order same tyres and rims as LC. Other addition is extra storage box on top at front.

Looking forward to picking up some time next month and doing a bit of camping on way home to north Queensland.

You wont be disappointed they are a great camper. Surprised you are collecting yours in Feb, we had to wait 6 months for ours to be delivered last year. Wait till you get caught in really nasty weather and everyone else is wet and miserable then you will see why you paid the extra money.

Yep. We bought one second hand, one of the very first models (late 1990s I think?) and it has had lots of use both from us and the previous owners. We were completely water tight during days of torrential rain up on Cape Leveque.

We recently camped with someone with a 25 year old Aussie swag. Still going strong and the canvas was still in perfect condition. Interestingly you could still see the same basic design that has been built on over the years

In some ways, I prefer the earlier models to the new ones. The originals were smaller but much lighter and lower, and cheaper. I have no doubt that the new models are more sophisticated and still beautifully built, but I am still happy with the original design.

You all may be right and we may have a wait all we were told was about 12 weeks, sometime in February and they will be in touch closer to date. Xmas New Year break will take a few week away. We aren't pushing as should be wet across Qld February early March so won't be able to use it and we have a few things on in the next months. We'll chase AS up next month and go from there.

For some reason I can't post pics to the forum, so I have changed profile pic to show what happened to an earlier model Aussie Swag, the new model cross member is much bigger.
