I was bought up in the bush, south of
Sydney, and have been all around Australia both for work and leisure. I have always loved the bush and have a keen interest in "bush tucker".
"Bush Tukka" is a beautifully presented, glossy little book which concentrates mainly on the northern half of Australia (the
home of the author). The subjects of each of the main sections (plants, animals and
recipes) are handled in a knowledgeable and sympathetic manner. The book doesn't cover the topic of bush tucker exhaustively enough to be considered a "reference book" and I would have liked to see further illustrations in the plant section of the full plants involved to make visual identification of them easier.
For anyone interested in an introduction to bush tucker, this is a very suitable start ...
