Have a new hema 7 I was given for Xmas and I have purchased the etopo200k sd card with maps on it. I have absolutely no idea on how to put these onto the hema 7 and the exploreoz it team is not answering the phone.
Can anyone help ?
cheers

Hi

Simple explanation - Assuming you have an SD card reader in PC/Laptop?

Copy the relevant files from the EO SD card onto your PC/laptop and then copy these to the Oziexplorer "Maps" folder on the microSD card that is in your HN (remove micro SD from HN, put it into micro sd card adapter that should have been included in package, then slot this into SD card reader of PC/Laptop).

Cheers

Thanks mate. Worked a treat. The sd card that came with the hema is 8 meg. Already got about 4 meg of maps on. The eotopo had 13 gig of maps. I just selected the main Aus one as a trial.

No worries

Yes you may need to invest in a larger micro SD. You can never have enough maps :)

Use the sd that EOTopo comes on. Firstly backup the files to your pc then copy the hema sd to the 16gb card and then copy the ozf files from the backup to the 16gb card. You do not need all the files just the ozf ones for the hema unit.

Hi Bigfish, I'll give you a tip.
Put the original HEMA SD card away or make a copy in case anything goes wrong.
My Hema has had a hiccup on powerup, twice now which has corrupted the SD card, it cost me $100 to get a new one.
I suspect it's related to the auto powerup and power interruption when I start the engine, it gets a short application of power when ACC comes on, off whilst starting engine and on again when engine starts, Hema doesn't like it if its internal battery is flat.
Disabled auto powerup, fixed the problem.

Thanks Johnny. That is exactly what I did 1/2 hour ago. I,m not up to speed with the different file associations. I am going to buy 16 gig micro sd card and load all my maps onto that then hang on the eotopo and the hema sd cards.
cheers mate.
