I don't know if anyone remembers the thread about my friend having trouble with his new Ford Ranger but after 2 years and $26 000 worth of warranty repairs and legal action they are finally going to give him a new vehicle.

That's good news for your mate. Pity he cant get his money back and get another brand. I would have no faith in ford after that experience. Have always had fords as sedans and had no issues. It only takes 1 disaster and I,d go elsewhere. $26,000...It wouldn't cost ford any where near that amount to make a car..

Would anyone want a replacement vehicle after that? He might think selling it 'as new' and buying something different as a good option! At least it is getting resolved, unlike many other who just have to put up with poor quality products. Michael

Never been a big Ford fan myself having had a service station workshop in a past life.
Maybe I should re-phrase that. I made many more dollars repairing Fords than that "other popular brand"....LOL.

Having said that, good on Ford to finally come to the party, even if the invite had to be a little forced. As said, many other brands would have hidden behind their lawyers skirts.

Cheers

I can't see Ford giving him another lemon as a replacement vehicle, I reckon the new one will be one of the most inspected cars they have made.

The Ranger is made overseas, if they make on lemon in every 100,000 that bad the chances of getting 2 in such a small (Australian) market is very low.

My son, grandson and numerous other friends have new Rangers with no trouble, so may have been that 1 in 100 000 although he was towing about 3 tonnes.
