What are peoples thoughts that own /have owned Windsor rapids on how well the 2.2 heron air cons work in ,in the vans that this size air con come in. eg ra 441 ,430x etc? Or do I need to go up to an ra 521 with the 3.0 heron? Basically do the air cons that come in the vans meet the requirements to keep you more importantly cool than on warm? Cheers in advance Trev. I hope this makes sense.

Trev
I can only comment on the Heron 2.2 unit in our 15' Supreme Getaway van.
It has the compressor unit beneath the bed with the air handler mounted in the rear wall between 2 cupboards facing forward.

Keeping in mind the van is a pop top with no insulation around the skirt it does make a substantial difference in hot weather, I would say lowering the temperature 3-4* from outside ambient.
The main benefit is the flow of cool air making perspiration less noticeable.

Quiet enough to run all night, but not being regular CP visitors the A/C is seldom used.

I could relate to that problem.
Ours is in an insulated metal box (coolness and quiet) but the air blowing out through the side wall vent sure is hot. (air inlet beneath.)
Perhaps yours could do with some insulation?

Have a 2007 Jayco Destiny and was getting a lot of heat under single bed and found that the Seals between the compressor unit and the Van walls were leaking badly, replaced them with new Seals from Bunnings. No heat now.
Being from Gippsland, 2.2 is big enough for our 18' pop top. But if you went north ???
