Hi all, I'm in need of a good auto electrician on
Brisbane northside. I've searched the
forum & have seen some threads nominating businesses that advertise on here. Searched the site for these but can't find them. Not sure why.
I know of a
well respected one at Brendale, but unfortunately they are only open 8 to 4 Monday to Friday & my partner doesn't drive. So very inconvenient.
The alternator is playing up on the troopie. Have done the usual "self help" stuff & tried a few things noted on here. It helped for a few days, but the alternator has gone back to playing up.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Don't know if it's any help, Louwai, but I used Batteryworld, in
Redcliffe a couple of times. From what I remember they are in Klingner Road, a couple of blocks back from the Esplanade.
That's some years back now, so not sure what they'd be like now?
Bob

Cheers Bob, To be honest I didn't think of them. I didn't think they would do anything in the field of Alternators....
Will give them a call.

They are auto sparkies, the B'world bit is probably just value adding?
Memory is a bit dim, but business might even be called
Redcliffe Auto Electrics?
Good luck,
Bob

Bob,
Ended up going to Battery World in Pickering St, Enoggera. A bit closer to me than
Redcliffe.
They were happy to spend about 30mins checking it over & giving a diagnosis for free. He gave me some suggestions & said that when it needs replacing, he knows a customer who has a spare (brand new), factory alternator to suit my vehicle that he would put me in touch with & he'd be happy to fit it.
Or he also suggested a heavy duty aftermarket unit from the US.
Very helpful & knowledgeable guys.
Recommended.

Thanks for the follow-up, Louwai.
Sounds like you have found a business worth supporting in the future.
Have been looking at a 140A alternator, from an eBay seller called auto8. $240 each......they are in Victoria. We have a Landcruiser ute.

G'day Bob,
I recently bought a 110A alt from Ebay seller auto8 for $183 delivered. Fitted it to my HZJ75 ute and all is good.
It comes with the adapter to go from a round to oval plug at no extra cost.
If it had a Denso sticker, one would think that it was OEM.
Regards
Stu

Appreciate the advice, Stu.
Think auto8 has pretty high rating, close to 100%, but still good to get your endorsement. Yeah, noticed the adaptor lead in the ad for the 140 amp model.
Thanks,
Bob
