Has any one had experience with the new Iridium GO
Connection for voice and data communications on up to five different devices (smartphones, laptops or tablets).
Great advertising But does it actually work in the real world.
I like to sail around the Coast and gives great alternative.
Love to know experience re costs also.

A very interesting unit.
in the world there is an issue with providers and different county uses of sat phones and coverage.
In Oz the iridium-satellite-phone can be a good alternative and understanding its Electronic Longevity is important when spending hard earned.

We certainly have - a great idea actually simplifying satellite Comms. A bit like having your own 2G mobile phone tower with you.

As far as data goes - useful for small file downloads, light email etc. but not useful for web browsing unless it's a text only site. Using a browser like Opera with "off road mode" which blocks pictures etc. can be great help if trying too access regular sites.
