Hi all,

After David's thread about Madigan's Plaques and a brief discussion with Stephen L, I thought I would start a thread offering pictures of explorer plaques from around the country.

Explorers opened up the country, and were later honored with plaques where they started, finished, and visited.

I have only a handful to offer, here they are some of them.
Can others please add pictures to the thread, and it may tell a fine story by the end.

Cheers
Alan

Sorry about that Muzbry, but you'll have to get out and have a look sometime :-)

Plaque or no plaque, there's nothing quite like being on the spot at a place of history!!!

Cheers

In Central West NSW around Condobolin commemorating the campsite and exploration of western NSW by Oxley, Evans and party in 1817. There is a second purpose to this memorial which is worth reading also. Megan

Interesting. Nice to see the "Honorable" W A Holman steal "top billing" on this plaque in lettering much larger than the names of those for whom the memorial plaque has been dedicated. Gotta love how a pollies mind works.

But all these things are fabulous to see, even if it means putting up with the nuffies who put them there.

Re lived a few trips looking for photo's. Only had time to find this lot. And to Murray (Muzbry), you owe me a beer, look at all the diesel I have saved you by not having to go to all these places.

Here's my collection of Beadell Plaques from across the years. Actually, I've still got to add a couple from last year as well.

Beadell Plaques - 31 in 28 years.

I think I'm at 34 now.

Cheers

Hi Allan

There are some great images, so it is great that there are others out there that also have an interest in our early explorers.

I am still searching through my thousands of images, but are a few that I could find so far.....

I will keep searching.

Cheers

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for all those pics, I've seen a couple of those when I went through your neck of the woods in 2012.
