Should not be a problem. We were up that way around then last year and it was your typical gravel road with the odd rough patch here and there, but basically OK.

If we get a late wet up here like it looks like at the moment, then you will have to
check first. I went that way in April last year and had to wait for the road to open as the rivers were up. You should however be ok by May

If your going via
Savannah Way you would need an of road caravan.I travelled that way mid September and it was corrugated for some long sections but all the rivers were low.

We were along there year before last and our poptop is not an off roader ,sure it was rough in
places but if you take it steady and try not to break any speed records you should have no trouble.

G'day Ole,
We did the trip in September 2012 and had no problems but as has been pointed out earlier it is all about the weather at the time.
Please see our blog
To Manangoora
Kind regards

Hi oleliste,
You will be fine in May. The wet season is poor this year with low rainfall, only 100mm at
Lorella Springs last month.
I find May the best time to travel those roads, before they get chopped up.
Cheers Andy
