Teemac,

I'd say where you live might have a bearing on what brand of exhaust you purchase..........unless you're up for a big freight additive.

Have had a Beaudesert 3" system on an 80 series, and was good. Their service is exemplary, they modified my system after fitting and wasn't charged. My fault, not theirs.

Currently have a Redback 3" on a 79 series, and was really easy to fit. Redback have part numbers for each section, so you can replace any part, if needed. They also offer a muffler choice too, none, sports or the one I have, about quarter of an acre in size. :-). It's pretty quiet and I haven't noticed any "droning" at highway speeds.

Taipan is another brand that a number of members on here have fitted to their vehicles. Don't know much about them, supposed to be pretty good too.

Cheers Bob, looking to install S/S as I live on the coast in NSW and do a bit of beach driving, there are offers of Berklee Domin8r S/S exhausts going for under $900 delivered and have asked around and can have it fitted for under $300 so very good value compared to some of the prices I have had of a few of the off-road suppliers in my area
Appreciate the comment and quick reply
Cheers Tone

Teemac,
I fitted the Taipan system. It was a little dearer than some of the brands but it is a quieter system and easy to fit. The company was good to deal with and the exhaust arrived in the post very well packaged with good instrucitons. The hardest part was getting the old one off and I had to call on the trusty axe saw a few times.

My 3" Beaudesert exhaust system has been on my Cruiser 7 years now, it's not SS and has been to the beach many times in that time frame and still going strong

When I put a BD 3" exhaust on my 100ser I asked for an S/S and thee guy asked why I said cos the last longer .

He said You have too much money and as SS doesnt bend as well as mild it wont be as good.

After all the supposed SS Toyota ones are only SS on the muffler not the pipe.

I had the exact same experience. I wanted an SS system on my 2011 troopie, the installer strongly suggested I not go for SS.
SS is much more expensive
SS is harder to bend
SS is more brittle & so can crack with common usage

I ended up fitting a Beaudesert steel system. Absolutely awesome. We are on the beach a lot. No issues to date.

Hi teemac
I have a Beaudesert 3'' mandrel on my Landcruiser 100 TD for over 2 years now . No problems at all. The company is good to deal and it was delivered to my front door with easy fitting instructions included. Added with the DP chip the Cruiser is great.
Cheers

Using a Taipan Mandrell bent 3". Very happy. See here (down towards the bottom of the blog under "performance mods"):Building the dream off roader - Performance Mods

I fitted the Redback system and are very happy with the result. I know of several others that have fitted the same system on the '79 series and are very happy. Give them a call - they are really helpful and will tailor the system to your requirements.

Red back on the LC DC couldn't be happier, straight through, sounds great, no drone at speed, can't hear it over the wind noise...
