I've been trying to evaluate the topo maps. I downloaded the 250K free topo map and the android Oziexplorer app running in trial mode. Oziexplorer doesn't recognize the map (.ozf4 format). Oddly, I downloaded the Memory Map app, and it recognizes the .ozf4 map and works fine! I did download the MM version of the 250K map, but hadn't put it on my tablet (Samsung 10.1 2014 edition), so it is definitely using the .ozf4. Reluctant to spend the bucks if silly things happen at the trial stage.

I have (along with many others) put OzTopo on Oziexplorer on Samsung tablets and it works fine. The map comes with an ECW format as well as ozf4.

Can't think what your problem maybe but I can assure you that it will work fine.

Yes, if others were having problems, there would be more than just my post. Oziexplorer works with the .map version no problems, but when I go to the DIR with the .ozf4 map, it doesn't even show it as being there. A puzzle. Thanks Alan.

Oops, got it to work. Seems you need the corresponding .map file as well as the .ozf4 file.

Yes

Best to keep the two files together in the same directory

Glad all is well

Munji,

The tablet cannot see the USB stick as a drive or expanded memory. You need to install the Android version of Ozi Explorer onto your tablet, then transfer the files on the USB stick to Ozi's MAPS folder via a PC. You should be ok then.

Cheers
