My brother and I are planning to cruise from Adelaide with my 4wd through the Flinders Range. For Cape York I bought a great book from HEMA with maps, descriptions etc

Is there something similar for this area that you can recommend? Brand doesn't matter to me as long as it does it's purpose ;-)

Thanks

Philipp

An appropriate HEMA map is your friend. Plenty of places to camp in the Flinders so a Camps book may not be mandatory.

Maybe look at The Map Shop in Peel St Adelaide, just up Hindley St from the mall.

As we are still in the process of planning, I would need something to plan the route and things we want to see. Thus I was hoping for something with information on tracks, sights etc

The most up to date info is the "Flinders Ranges and Outback" guide from SA tourism. You can print it off or save as a PDF:

Gday Bob,
Yeah it's very good, and is all I use these days. And its nice having it as a pdf - store it on a computer or phone.

The Moon's book mentioned by Wendy is well worth it. Very detailed.

I agree.
The Viv & Ron Moon book on the Flinders Ranges is well worth purchasing. We intend travelling their Sept this year & I've admittedly only just purchased it recently, however it contains so much more info than a map.

Just drop in to the RAA nearest you. They will give you most of the stuff free.
