Most Landcruisers have rear wheel bearings lubricated by grease & there should be no oil leaking from this area (grease does not normally melt enough to run past the paper gasket that seals the axle head to the hub)

If oil is leaking it is probably a axle seal leaking (located in the outer end of the axle housing & keep the diff oil in) & in the worst case what can happen is that the oil will wash the grease from the wheel bearings & the bearings will get hot & seize & lock up & spin on the rear axle housing causing major damage

I think you need to have a experienced person look at it & possibly slip a axle out & see the extent of the leakage

If the grease is contaminated with a lot of oil you would need to remove the hub, wash the bearings & repack with grease & replace the seal (not a major job)

It could last for years with this leaking but it could just as well fail tomorrow so if you have the chance i would have it looked at before it is to late

Regards Don
