Gday Warfer - The Quarries is only about 5k out of Briag still on the bitumen - past Estoppy's Rd, the
camping area is quite big, and there is a pretty big
swimming hole, better or not, I couldn't say - though two of our party said The Quarries was warmer to swim in, though it is deeper, apparently, but maybe more open to the sun to heat it up. You would have passed the Quarries if you went through Briag up the
Dargo road from there. Great country up around there - another spot along that road is McKinnon's Point - various
camp sites,
swimming hole, and if you cross the
creek keep heading in there is a terrific spot about 700 metres along the track (mind the sharp bend) - really nice. This is where the crystal reef is up the
hill.
I reckon it is great to share knowledge of
places on this
forum, don't you?
