I am looking for the manufacturer or a stockist for a
camp oven I have seen at various 4WD shows over the last few years. It is made from spun steel and one of the variations is a gas ring (you know the cheap round chinese burners) that is attached to the lid so that you can use them without coals. I went to the caravan and camping show here in
Adelaide the other week but could only find cast ovens.
It is very similar to this one but with the gas ring attached but nout sure if it is a permanent fixture or not.

Remember hearing of a mob in
Ballarat who make the spun steel
camp ovens. Maybe at the colonial world thingy they have there!
Can find out if you like.

David,
Your looking for an
Bedourie oven maybe, spun steel and made over your way. I've used heat beads quite sucessfully and that saves mucking around looking for wood when your strapped for time and want to get on with the cooking.
You also might want to look at the Cobb cooker site, they are fantastic (uses heat beads) Only weighs 4.8 kg's. Safe as too. I still use my other
camp ovens depending on what I'm doing.
