In a recent post I simply gave an opinion but it seems there are many people who think I shouldn't have an opinion. I don't want people to stop calling their 4wds trucks, I simply said that it annoys me. No matter how much you may try to justify it I still find it annoying .... Thank you for all your responses.

Yes... you gave an opinion.. and you are entitled to it. Just like you are entitled to refer to your 4X4 as anything you want to!! And so am I... and everyone else... and you "simply said that it annoys me"... but your post implied (to me anyway) "Everybody stop calling 'em trucks 'cos I said so!!!"....
But to be honest.... I thought it generated some of the funniest posts I have read on this
forum for ages.... had us in stitches of laughter, and THAT can only be a good thing!
Good on ya TrucksterNT

I admit to being "the one". It was I that started the underground movment known today, Australia wide, as... Truckies Recreational Unified Co-op, or T.R.U.C for short. And yes, I drive this cause whenever the opportunity presents. I am a TRUC driver, and damn proud of it.
Truckies come from all walks of life, and this is reflected no more than in the diversity of the "trucks" they drive. Sam and his "Subie", Terry and his "Tojo", Larry and his "Landie", Crusty and his "Cruiser". All fair dinkum little truckers.
However, there are some, a shallow few, that flit through the shadows, disseminating half truths and bathing in self-rightousness as they spread their twisted gospel. They scoff at the little trucker!! That would challenge the very concept and freedom for us to drive "little trucks".
But there is a voice, you can heard. As a member of T.R.U.C we speak on your behalf. No longer talking in whispered tones, or cringing in fear when at your next barby the missus says " we had a nice Falcon and then he went and bought this bloody truck!" The tide will turn.
Anyone wishing to join T.R.U.C we will be meeting, in secret, at an un-disclosed time and place. All welcome. (balaclavas opitional).
Miker.
