In a recent post I simply gave an opinion but it seems there are many people who think I shouldn't have an opinion. I don't want people to stop calling their 4wds trucks, I simply said that it annoys me. No matter how much you may try to justify it I still find it annoying .... Thank you for all your responses.

That's a strange thing to say Tim&jan. I don't know how to respond. If you don't know why you replied I really don't know either and therefore find difficulty getting a conversation going. Maybe try again when you know what you want to say and why you want to say it. Thanks anyhow for responding to me. Did you agree with my view?

Tim&Jan,

Just ignore him, probably the biggest truck he'll ever have is called a "Tonka" and he got it for his seventh birthday last year, leave him alone to go play in his sand box.

Truckster, I'm assuming you're a truckie other than the patrol...I don't call my cruiser a truck for f*cks sake as you would understand because its a 4x4. My mate has an "american F20 Jeep"truck" ...I'd call it a pickup or pickup truck if your a yank but couldn't get across a weekend warrior gully if he paid for it to. It must be a dominant thing in the eastern states because if anyone here called their landy, or patrol a truck I'd hit them on the balls with a stick...apart from the rich farmers that buy the f250s etc which are trucks...fukin useless for offroading...haha good for dusty fields and showing off in town. I'm only talking about the yank tanks and will keep drinking.

If you are going to hide swear words hide them all or think about if you really need them to get your opinion across.

Yes... you gave an opinion.. and you are entitled to it. Just like you are entitled to refer to your 4X4 as anything you want to!! And so am I... and everyone else... and you "simply said that it annoys me"... but your post implied (to me anyway) "Everybody stop calling 'em trucks 'cos I said so!!!"....

But to be honest.... I thought it generated some of the funniest posts I have read on this forum for ages.... had us in stitches of laughter, and THAT can only be a good thing!

Good on ya TrucksterNT

TrucksterNT, don't worry about it any, it's the off subject posts that get the creative juices running with most of the forumites here, and you provided a wonderful distraction from the daily things of life with your post, well Done!

I admit to being "the one". It was I that started the underground movment known today, Australia wide, as... Truckies Recreational Unified Co-op, or T.R.U.C for short. And yes, I drive this cause whenever the opportunity presents. I am a TRUC driver, and damn proud of it.

Truckies come from all walks of life, and this is reflected no more than in the diversity of the "trucks" they drive. Sam and his "Subie", Terry and his "Tojo", Larry and his "Landie", Crusty and his "Cruiser". All fair dinkum little truckers.

However, there are some, a shallow few, that flit through the shadows, disseminating half truths and bathing in self-rightousness as they spread their twisted gospel. They scoff at the little trucker!! That would challenge the very concept and freedom for us to drive "little trucks".

But there is a voice, you can heard. As a member of T.R.U.C we speak on your behalf. No longer talking in whispered tones, or cringing in fear when at your next barby the missus says " we had a nice Falcon and then he went and bought this bloody truck!" The tide will turn.

Anyone wishing to join T.R.U.C we will be meeting, in secret, at an un-disclosed time and place. All welcome. (balaclavas opitional).

Miker.

This is my current "truck" but when I was a real trucker I drove flat tops or prime movers towing bogies, tri's or wide spreads but alas never a B double. Never had a problem trouble with people driving 'Tonkas" and especially in a forum.
