Lovely photos Darian, and they bring back lots of memories. I agree with your comments about the need to get out of the vehicle and seek them out. The pink daisy-like flowers immediately below the catspaws are Swamp Daisies, although they are not true daisies at all but are related to gums trees, bottle brushes etc (Myrtaceae family).
