Have noticed on a previous post that the 1 hz has oil galleries in the engine for cooling. Have been led to believe by a mechanic that the 2H is the same, can any one enlighten me as to whether this is in fact true.

Yep, its a true fact! 2H and 12H-T are the same in this respect.

There is a side plate on the motor that allows the coolant to flow out of the motor and around a heat exchange plate that the oil flows thru. The oil filter assembly bolts onto this sideplate 3-4 hundred to replace not including the heat xchange plate
