Hi All Just wondering if anyone is running a new GU wagon with a 4.2Ti motor, Im chasing what the fuel economy is like, mine seems to get about 14ltrs to the 100ks or 20-21 mpg with a average speed 100-110. Higher speeds & it really slurps it up. Its only done 13000ks so its got a long way to go before it loosens up, thought someone might have one with higher mileage & maybe better economy.

Cheers Steve

Steve,

Mine is 10/2002 with about 22k on the clock. I'm getting about 23 mpg average on country travel and about 17 mpg when I tow the camper trailer. Doesn't really seem to vary that much but I rarely travel over 110 km/h.

Reards,

Slim

Mines a July 03 and I get similar results to yourself. I think it's about 7 km a litre. Bung the trailer on and it seems to drop to 6 and the roof rack takes 1 off as well. I admit that I do like to sit at the upper edge of the speed limit and I like to get there fairly quickly, or as quick as a diesel will let me, any way.

Cheers,

Hilly

On our last trip towing a camper trailer we used about 13-14 litres / 100kms. The roof rack was on (although empty) and covered a variety of road conditons. The vehicle has only just hit 5,000 kms and I expect it to only improve once the engine loosens up.

Cheers

2001 4.2 with just short of 30,000kms on the clock, normal around the 7km/ltr and will drop to about 6km/ltr with the camper trailer on the back. Im not normally that fussed about my fuel consumption in a 4wd but I still like to know what I can get out of my tank..its a nice to know..haha
