Comment: 4WD Toyota Coaster Build up

I should have made myself a bit clearer. My earlier statement referred to coasters imported and sold in Australia as new buses.
Coasters imported from Japan under the RAWS/SAWS scheme can only be registered as two seater campervans and as a result "may" have a lower GVM of 4.5t and be driven on a car licence.
All this of course only applies to the current LWB body shape in full bus config, some of course have been modified with engineering certificates for reduced seating, wheelchair lifts, and may have a 4.5t GVM enabling them to be driven on a car licence. Earlier models (pre 1993) had some configurations that were under 4.5t from the factory, mainly base models without a/c.
As I said earlier I have heard of buses being registered in QLD with reduced seating/motorhome config and a GVM of 4.95T which Victoria for one wouldn't accept and upgraded them back to 4.5t when they were "imported" and registered there.
