Comment: Trip Planning - Choosing your travel companions wisely.

Good blog Mick O - some great advice there. Sometimes it's the little things that we don't think of (or what we 'assume') that can create the greatest angst.
On my last major trip, I travelled with my brother. I was worn out from work and needed a bit of a restful holiday (as well as wanting to enjoy a touring trip) but my brother wanted to be up before sunrise to explore and take photos. After some discussion we arrived at a compromise where he would leave me to sleep while he snuck out and took his photos, then we'd have breakfast and pack up together.
Openness and willingness to discuss goes a long way in many situations (not just travelling), and sometimes one or both parties may have to compromise, at least for a time.
