Sir Kev
There has been quite a bit of talk about our involvement in this conflict.
I for one fully support the Australian involvement, as a former member of the Aust Army, I believe that for all the training undertaken by "volunteers", to be able to deploy and undertake Active Service operations is what Serving for the Australian Defence Force is all about.
Any Deployment be it Warlike or Non Warlike Operations carries a risk of death. All Serving members volunteered to become members of the ADF, so therefore they are willing participants in the commitment of the current government of the day to Deploy on Operations.
Lets also not forget the other casualities of conflict, Herbie the Explosive Detection Dog was also killed whilst on Operations.
