Perhaps a Letter to Acurrent Affair or some such organisation.
I do not own a Cruiser at the moment,(have owned a 47 and 60 series) but I have had a similar experience with my son's motorcycle.
I ended up contacting the Italian manufacturure as you have with Toyota Japan, and that did achieve results.
I believe your problem is that Toyata are held in hi regard and are the top 4WD Seller in Aus.
This tends to make them a bit arrogant, hence the suggestion about going to the media.

I am seriously considering an approach to ACA.
