Definitely push for compensation and perhaps a new vehicle. It does look like you have a lemon and if so you have rights.

Don't let the dealer or Landrover bully you into submission - go in with all guns blazing. I've found one of the quickest ways to get resolution is to threaten to go to the media - use this if they start playing games.

If they still don't come to the party, follow thru on it. Go to the TV channels and I guarantee your problem will be solved pretty quickly.
