I would love a supercharger but the cost is huge, over two times that of a turbo

Hi Liam, i fitted one, drive in drive out, 12 mths warranty on my GQ for $5500. The benefits far outway a turbo, instant power right from idle to red line, also if something goes wrong with the unit just remove the drive belt and you can still drive the vehicle. The unit doesnt generate any excessive heat, and on the patrol all parts are available from Holden as it is the same unit fitted to the s/c v6 commodore. Also the s/c is friendly on the bottom end of a motor with a few ks up, unlike a turbo which can do some good damage to the unwary. Haveing driven both the turbo and the s/c, my opion is that the s/c is far superior and is the only way to go.
