HI,
As long as the engine is not struggling, it should be OK. You need to anticipate ahead and change before it tells you. Prado owners (auto diesel) will know that the torque converter cuts in at 82kmh and drops 500 revs. It will then pull at 1800 to 1900 revs and below 80 kmh. When it needs to, the box jumps out and revs up accordingly. Gives good consumption and the engine does not rev its head off.
Does this not happen in LC100/200 too?

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the reply to my auto trans queery, the same happens to the LC100.
The torque converter cuts in when the speedo drops to 82kmh,but i do antisipate the drop and shift back to D4,then get back to 90kmh at1800/1900rpm,
Sounds good to me,
cheers
John.
