Michael, I installed a 12v pump in our jayco dove outback. It works
well and is so much easier than hand pumping. We have 2 taps over the sink, the original handpump and the 12v normal tap. Being a smaller dove we have to rotate the spout backwards when closing the ends but its no problems. I also installed an outside tap behind the front frame where it is protected from rocks. It just has a simple irrigation type on/off valve with a small piece of
water hose on the end. Simple but effective. The only thing is the 12v pump is noisy mostly because it is screwed on the thin ply walls under the sink and it vibrates. Hope this helps.
P.S. We havent moved the battery so I cant help you on that one.

Ive looked and there's not much room to mount under the sink, but will have to make room somehow. Should have looked first before I jumped in and bought the pump. Ive looked under the
seat and rekon I could move the battery without any issues, its a sealed battery so cant see fumes being a problem. And it will be far enough away from the mains unit.
