Comment: Anne Beadell Highway 2010

Excellent write up Stephen
We should be out there mid September next year.
Can I ask how much fuel you carried/used for the trip.
I read that you topped up at Ilkurlka but you didn't mention
how much you put in or started with.
Thanks Norm

Hi Norm
It is a great trip and one that I would do again at the drop of a hat, despite the corrugations. We were out there 7 days but would be very easy to add a couple more days out there. The good thing with my Prado, I have a stock standard 180 litre fuel tank, so I did not take any back up fuel. I filled up at Ilkurlka, taking 76 litres of diesel. It pays to give them a call first, mainly to make sure that someone is there. They told me that they try to keep at least 10,000 litres of diesel on hand at all times. We did just over 1400 kilometres taking in a few detours and used 178 litres of diesel.

Have a time out there and I hope this helps you out.

Cheers

Stephen
