Does anyone know if the Prado will be coming to Oz with the 4.7 V8 as it does in America and if so when is this likely to happen?

The 4.7V8 is in the Lexus variant (GX470, I think). I'm not sure that the Toyota Prado is sold in the US.

I'm not so sure that the performance difference between the V6 and V8 would be that big. The V6 is actually more powerful than the V8, not as much torque though.

Coops,

The 4.7 V8 is used in both the 4Runner and the Sequoia (Prado) here in the states, and also in the Tundra "truck" Not too sure but I think they are all assembled here with the motors probably speced out of Mexico or somewhere else.

Who knows were what cars are made were nowdays!!!!!!!!!

Hi Bruce,

Just as a point of interest, the Sequioa isn't the Prado.

The Prado is a smaller vehicle than the Landcruiser, where as the Sequoia is larger.

You are right about "Who knows were what cars are made were nowdays!!!!!!!!!".

Just found the other day that the Isuzu Trooper is still in production in Vietnam as well as the Phillipines!

Savvas,

You're right about the Sequioa not being the Prado, I looked driving down the freeway today, It looks like the lexus gx470 is like the Prado.

Am I correct?

Yeps ... the GX470 is the Lexus variant of the Prado, with the V8 instead of our V6.

If I recall correctly, the GX470 was released in the US at least a year ahead of Australia receiving the 120 series Prado.

Mate..
They have 4 Runners with V8 over there. Effectively making the top line up rather crowded..?
Imagine shopping for SUV over there..must be cheaper fuel or something..

FYI they still make 80 series in south America..So if you really want a new 80 series..you can still get them!!
