You are spot on with your Engel assessment - I have the 60L Combi and the chain getting caught in the lid, and the gauge only reading the Freezer temp give me the bleep s! Also I think it would be better with a different setup than the fan forced 'spill over' to the fridge compartment... I also have a seperate temp sensor in the fridge section.
