What a beaut and timely blog. Sally and Stewart are heading off from
Bendigo on Monday 15th in our 2007 Disco3 TDV6 to the Cape. Taking the Trakmaster caravan as the risk of Stewart breaking his neck answering the midnight call at his age has led us to leave the rooftop tent at home. Your story makes us even more eager, thanx.

Hi Sally,
Thanks for your kind thoughts...I have had a lot of positive feedback from all over...quite humbling...I am pleased you have the right vehicle!!!! We enjoyed listening to the UHF up the Cape and hearing everyone (who obviously weren't in Landrovers) complaining about the corrugations. Trish and I would look at each other and laugh wondering if they were talking about the same road!.
Yes there are corrugations but nowhere did we consider them harsh...I guess it is also how you handle them but there are stretches of the Dev.road where it is quite safe to do 100kph.
I will update my blog for you with my thoughts on the trip and the things which have been good and bad.
best wishes for your trip...hopefully we will see you on the road
Regards
Graeme
