Ford Falcon computer

Hi,

Anyone know cheap alternatives to buying a genuine Falcon EF computer, I'm not even sure were to look. Changed a battery on my sister's car and looks like the computer has died. Don't see how I did it but who knows. Genuine is over $700.

Any good ford wrecker should be able to flog you a second hand one for ?$50-100. I think law says it has to work first time but thats the extent of the 'warraunty'. Most wreckers are pretty good tho if they have sold you a faulty component in regards to replacement being members of the MTA and all.

Otherwise, you can go an exchange one for ?$3-400 or so i think. This is a second hand unit that has been tested by a ECU specialist. My mum's TR magna had a faulty ecu a while back which got a exchange ECU put in. Ring around your local mechanics to see if they know any ECU specialists or might be able to arrange something for you.

Thanks for the info. I've since checked out a wrecker and their price is a little better $136 as opposed to genuine.
