Most things that I have read suggest that Diamantina NP is not worth the effort. How wrong they are!

Thanks Kevin, yes you are quite right. It does take a bit of effort just to get there, so if you go expecting massive gorges and rugged country etc you might be disappointed. But the place has its own quiet beauty, and I think you need to give the it time to work its magic on you. You also have to engage your imagination to think what it would be like to live and work there, experience the droughts and floods etc. We would certainly go back there again.
