Comment: Following the Big Wet - 2011 Trip – Part 13: Diamantina NP

Hi John and Val, I don't know weather this is a good or bad thing but my Grand parents used to work for S Kidman. They worked on all of the properties along the River. We went to visit the properties in a rented 4x4. so had to hurry & it looked & smelt like rain. I Didn't get out to the lakes.
The other branch of the family tree has all the memories. I have asked but these people are very busy.
We saw Annandale when the waterhole was full & had lunch there. I liked that country but not Diamantina Downs country.
We were hurrying to keep time for the rented vehicle .My parents are both dead. Mother wouldn't say much about those places when she was alive. Thankyou for that Blog. I think the time grands were there was after 1914 but not sure.
As happens too often I didn't ask my grandparents before they died.
