Great story Joe, thanks for posting it. Its very disappointing that so many Aussies know so little about their country. Good on whoever thought to invite a cruise ship and hopefully it wont be a once-off event. We thought that PH was a standout place to visit just because of the insights offered into mining.

Thank you for your interest in this little episode in the rapidly changing
Pilbara.
I guess the home grown Aussie who becomes a tourist at home for the first time, is seeing things that are a direct result of almost 50 years of industry in the region, seems a shame that most of what was natural is no longer ~ but I guess the industrial scene can also be an attraction too !!
I'm not sure if Cruise ships docking in the Port of Hedland will be a regular event, but all "kudos" to the people of
Port Hedland who were involved with this event.
