Just come back from the 4wd show on at Darling Harbour. Found it fairly informative and not that crowded considering it was Saturday. Bought a cobb cooker-no great saving to the normal price just a cheaper pizza plate than usual! Lots of 4wds on show and plenty of fishing gear as well as lots of leaflets for the travellers. All in all worth the $38 for the family ticket. Only thing I could complain about was the $25 we had to pay to park at Darling Harbour-mind you it was worth the convenience! With 3 small children you pay for convenience!

Have also just returned from same show. Spent lots of money ..... winch, camp shower, "porta potti" (forme not husband) and bullbar! Felt the same as you i.e. not too crowded. Given that we saved 10% on bullbar, $20 on shower, $40 on hmmm "porta potti", $10 on a gas heater attachment, etc. the $22 parking and entry fee were justified!

Forgot that we also saved $100 on a Coleman tent. We had checked the model we wanted out at various outlets beforehand, and even tho' it wasn't one on display by Tentcity, they still allowed us a $100 cheaper price than any we had so far!!!!

Hi Lynn2.. what was the gas heater attachment you brought? the son has been looking for one for a while now as he has 3 little nippers in a camper and we told him we seen this one in Cairns (would you believe) and have never seen it again. He is heading out again in Apr and would like to surprise him with it if I can

W got one from Boots at Prospect by Coleman I think that screws onto a gas bottle & heats the camper up just fine for Lex as she is a frog, for me it's to hot but she's happy.

Thanks Bob for the info.. I'll hunt around down here. Still not convinced it's the way to go for him. As sure as eggs I can see one of the Billy Lids chuckin' a blanket or knocking it over with something

I went to the show on Friday... I must say that I was a little p@#$ed off with the $25 parking fee... I mean dont they make enough money?... $15 entry, $4.50 for a crappy meat pie, $3.50 for a diet Pepsi and then $25 for parking... Kinda makes the $20 I saved on a hillbilly oven look a bit sad...
