Comment: Following the Big Wet - 2011 Trip – Part 18: Flinders River to the Athe

From my perspective, you don’t get much wrong, Val. I was particularly aware of the Savannahlander. We spent a night at the Bedrock Caravan Park in Mount Surprise. We were just setting up our van when we heard a train nearby. We rushed in the direction of the sound and just caught the two cars of the train heading in to the station. A couple of days before that we had been to Cobbold Gorge and taken a side trip into Einasleigh. It must be interesting when the train comes in. Even a two car train would about double the population of the town.
Are you going to blog us home down the coast? I hope so!

Now I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see the train - that would have really been a surprise out there in the bush! Its a wonderful part of the country around there and the Tablelands. A couple more blogs to complete the trip, though we stayed away from the coast this time.
Cheers,
Val.
