Comment: Free Camping - What is the real cost?

hey landy, we recently done 8 weeks NT and QLD and the worst facilitys and camp sites we came across were the big name parks and resorts. The best was a free camp at a weir just out of barcauldine. We stayed a few days extra and because accom was free we went to town bought some souvs, a counter lunch, and even played pokies. We ended up spending the same amount but we felt that we d had a treat. Why should the caravan park get all our money and not the other business in town. This was not a one off, just an example
