Hi, my 2 bobs worth and a
view point from a realatively newbie our last 6 week holiday was a mixture of parks, national parks and free, we enjoyed the free and national parks more and i include mt Browne
milparinka as free even if we paid. the people we met " beside the river somewhere" were more freindly than
park people having a quiet beer around a fire with brand new friends was fantastic and some thing we look forward to in future. the caravan parks on the other hand everybody seemed to move indoors by them selves. But what really irked me about caravan parks some have done an absolute fantastic job with the
park building massive playgrounds, jumping castles, great big rooms that house pin ball and computer machines etc then have to charge accordingly to recop on their investment. my wife and i are 56 and are just a little past jumping castles we dont like paying $42 a nite for things we dont want and wont use. I guess thats why we like the outback more, dont know what the answer is but i think if they would lower the price if i promised not to use the playground or jumping castle then maybe ?
cheers warren

Hi Warren,
Appreciate you taking the time to comment, the more discussion, the more likely there is an eventual resolution.
In terms of caravan parks providing facilities that aren’t required by an older travelling public, I guess there is a need to cater for a wide audience, and that includes families travelling with children. The question is whether the cost would be substantially less if they didn’t provide these facilities, there might be some adjustment, but it might be offset by less revenue as family’s by-pass the
park.
And yes, all kinds of people travelling, some friendly, others seemingly who want to keep to themselves, each to their own I say.
And I must say the
Corner Country, especially around
Milparinka is a favourite of ours...
Cheers, Baz (The Landy)
