To true Landy,
the question, do they expect and are they getting a hand out, I’ll leave for others to decide.
But in reality they are doing is what Australians have done since and prior to colonisation.
Difference is now we have a business organisation saying if we can stop this we can make more money.

What you have is caravan parks saying all they want is a level playing field, something they don’t have in many instances. But I don’t want to get bogged down into a debate over the merit or otherwise of having caravan parks, and at what cost, other than to say they are legitimate businesses that provide a valuable service to our community and are entitled to question the provision of subsidised
camping by councils that collect rates from them.
But the central point of my theme is to highlight that without private sector investment in tourism you will see a decline in tourism
infrastructure over time. If you are going to compete against a council that is providing subsidised
camping why would you bother establishing, or continuing with your business. Is this a good or acceptable outcome from the future of tourism in this country...
